The BC High School EMR program is an initiative launched and supported by BCEHS to bring pre-hospital care training to high school classrooms throughout the province. School Districts opting to take part in the program sign an affiliation agreement directly with Columbia Learning Group, allowing their high school teachers to deliver Columbia's EMR program as part of their course offerings to students.
Schools and teachers have ongoing support from BCEHS who are able to help with everything a school needs to know before launching the program, connections to local paramedics for support with delivery, and assistance on sourcing low or no-cost equipment. Once a school has decided to move ahead, Columbia Learning steps in to support with program delivery by assisting with teacher training, student enrolment and IT support, course delivery assistance and access to a large cadre of instructors and paramedic students keen to provide volunteer support to your teacher with in-class delivery.
